Reading Assignment 2

L is for Lone Star: A Texas Alphabet
                                   by:  Carol Crane

                 Crane, C., & Stacy, A. (2001). L is for Lone Star: a Texas alphabet.
                            Chelsea, MI: Sleeping Bear Press.

When I visited the
Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center,
I noticed a beautiful display of Texas Symbols.
Carol Crane's book, L is for Lone Star: A Texas Alphabet,
is a great teaching tool to read prior to a fieldtrip to the environmental center. There are many things to like about this book, but what I particularly like the most is it's versatility. The book contains poems and more detailed text that can be read to both young and older students. In fact, its full page illustrations can also be used tell the story to Pre-K students for example.

The link below contains lesson ideas and printables to use with this book.
